IoT devices continuously transmit vital signs for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and respiratory conditions. Blockchain ensures authenticity of sensor data and prevents manipulation. For example, if a cardiac monitoring device detects abnormal rhythms, smart contracts can immediately notify physicians or trigger emergency protocols. The combination of IoT automation and blockchain security eliminates false readings, delays, and inaccuracies.

Blockchain IoT is also revolutionizing medical device authentication. Hackers can exploit vulnerabilities in connected medical devices, potentially altering dosages or disabling life-saving equipment. Blockchain assigns each device a verifiable digital identity, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring that only certified personnel or systems can control the device. This boosts safety and reduces the risk of device-related cyberattacks.
