A flat sheet is as a rule easy to fold and pack down when not in use since it is smooth and flat. On the other hand, a fitted sheet and a percale sheet can be wrapped around the bed and stay put even when a sleeper rolls and turns around due to the application of elastic that is sewed on the corners.
